Die Professorin und Neurophysiologin Daniele Pollak ist unter anderem Mitglied des „Women Mentoring Programms“ der Medizinischen Universität Wien. In ihrer Arbeit setzt sie den Fokus auf die Erforschung von emotionalen und sozialen Verhaltensmustern: „The research focus of my laboratory is centered on contributing to unraveling the neural and molecular basis of emotional and social behaviors in their physiological and pathological states. We use specific animal models and a wide range of analytical methods to address at central questions about the neuroarchitectural organization and molecular mechanisms of important social and emotional behaviors in the mouse, including mating and parental care well as anxiety and depression-related behaviors. We are also interested in the role of early life experiences on the later development of these behaviors and the modulatory role of endogenous (physiological states) and exogenous (environmental) influences.“
